Family Safir products, made using electricity and renewable sources

(own photovoltaic energy and certified hydro energy)

FEED – NUTRIVA (Compound feed factory)

* Use of own renewable energy

  • • In 2024, at the NUTRIVA feed factory, 1,210 monocrystalline photovoltaic panels of 455W were installed for autonomous electricity production
  • • The electricity purchased in 2024 comes exclusively from Hidroelectrica S.A., a supplier of renewable energy

* Contribution to the green energy mix

  • • Strategic objective: increasing the share of own renewable sources to at least 15% of total consumption by 2030

The feed used in poultry farming is produced in a facility powered both by its own photovoltaic energy and by electricity from renewable (hydro) sources.

SAFIR SLAUGHTERHOUSE (Meat processing) and PREPARED & SEMI-PREPARED PRODUCTS FACTORY

* Direct investments in green energy

  • • Installation of 1,323 photovoltaic panels
  • • Two photovoltaic plants commissioned in 2024, with a total capacity of 1,250 kW, installed on 6 buildings within the holding

* Measurable climate impact

  • • Estimated annual emissions reduction: 888 tons of CO₂, equivalent to emissions from 193 gasoline vehicles

* Purchased green electricity

  • • Electricity is purchased exclusively from Hidroelectrica S.A.

The meat is processed in a facility powered both by its own photovoltaic energy and entirely by electricity from renewable sources.

FARMS – SAGEM (Poultry farming)

* Energy efficiency and green transition

  • • Systematic replacement of lighting fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting in farms
  • • Objective by 2030: continue replacing conventional lighting with LED in poultry houses

* Renewable energy within the holding

  • • Electricity purchased at the holding level comes exclusively from Hidroelectrica S.A.

* Climate commitment

  • • Target: reducing total CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to the 2024 baseline year

Poultry is raised in farms that use electricity from renewable sources and implement concrete energy efficiency measures.

Both Zdravăn Moldovenesc and Deliciosul de Vaslui represent quality products obtained from birds raised under controlled conditions, respecting the same strict standards of welfare and food safety. The difference lies in genetics and growth rate. The Deliciosul de Vaslui range comes from the Ross 308 hybrid, a fast-growing chicken that reaches optimal weight in a shorter cycle, offering tender and tasty meat appreciated for its juiciness and finesse. On the other hand, Zdravăn Moldovenesc, from the Hubbard hybrid, has a slower growth rate, giving the meat a firmer texture and a more intense flavor, preferred by those seeking the authentic taste of traditional chicken. Both ranges reflect our commitment to quality, safety, and diversity, offering consumers the choice between two excellent products tailored to different tastes and lifestyles.
Broiler chickens raised in farms supplying the Vaslui poultry slaughterhouse are raised in halls with controlled temperature and ventilation, freely, on permanent bedding made of chopped straw, wood shavings, or sunflower husks, with free access to water and feed provided ad libitum. Zdravăn Moldovenesc chickens (slow-growing) have free access to outdoor enclosures, in open air, on chopped straw used as bedding.
The feed consists of a mixture of grains, soybean meal, sunflower meal, mineral sources (salt, calcium), and a vitamin mix. The recipe is balanced through calculations performed by a computer program to meet all the nutritional requirements of the birds. The feed is then mechanically compressed into pellets so that the mixture is distributed evenly and mimics the granulation of grains, which is the basis of poultry nutrition in the wild. All raw material sources used in feed production are natural.
Chickens are like children: if you take care of them while raising them, supervise them, and take the necessary measures for proper growth, you get the expected result. In this regard, we focus our attention and control on very important aspects: feed control, growth, slaughtering, and transport to the shelf. Each of these aspects, and all of them together, make the difference. We own our feed factory, manage the recipes, control grain quality in our own laboratory, own our farms where we raise them with our own staff, transport them with our own vehicles to our slaughterhouse, and then deliver them to stores with specialized vehicles. We ensure a short supply chain, which guarantees product freshness and taste.
Yes, chicken meat is recommended in the diet of young children at the beginning of diversification. It is a balanced food in terms of protein, carbohydrates, and fats necessary for children's growth.
